Solar shades come in different levels of opacity varying from 14 1 openness. With solar shades you can still see out of the window but the glare and blinding sun will be filtered making for a much more pleasurable outlook.

The premium solar shades are a high end designer collection of solar roller shades and are certified by the greenguard environmental institute. These solar shades block 97 of harmful uv rays which will help to extend the life of your furniture and rugs. It will be faint though and you will not have as clear a view as you get from shades with higher openness percentages. A 1 open solar shade will block 99 of the light and damaging uv rays.

The more open a fabric is 10 is more open than 1 the easier you can see through it. These percentages range from 1 to 14. These shades come without cords making them child and pet safe. A 10 open only blocks 90.

Premium solar shades 1 percent openness receive the greatest insulation and sunlight protection of all our premium solar shades. Fabrics with lower percentages feature a tighter weave while fabrics with higher percentages have a more open weave. Each solar shade fabric has its own unique openness percentage. Openness simply refers to how tight the weave is which directly reflects the amount of light that is let in through the fabric.

Capable of blocking out 99 of uv rays these shades also allow clear viewing of the outside area while delivering maximum light and heat reduction for your home or business. Solar shade fabric is generally available in 3 levels of openness.

A 1 shade will block 99 of the uv rays while a 14 will block 86 and so on the lower the percentage the tighter the weave and the less light will be let through. Open fabrics also let more light into the room. Our 1 solar shades come equipped with a sewn in bottom rail but can be upgraded to an exposed or fabric wrapped bottom rail for an even more customized look and feel.
