4l60e transmission to transfer case gasket leak.

I have this issue with my truck but i have narrowed the cause down to a gasket leak between the transmission and the tc i e.
Have the same problem.
So when i started removing the old the transfercase was caked with shit.
Fluid leaks from the transmission into the tc and blows out the overflow.
And just needs a new tcase gasket.
I was thinking i could just bolt the one i already have on to the new tranny.

Considering the adapter lasted 17 years with 75 pound transfer case hanging off of it is impressive.
I m supposed to see the transmission expert tomorrow and i d like to be a little more sure of myself.

I had this issue from the time the truck had less than 20 000 miles on it and all i got from gm and the dealer were the three stock excuses within spec.

But it doesnt have a transfer case.
Never heard of that before.
That said if the leak is at the transfer case input shaft seal and the transfer case oil level is increasing only the transfer case needs to be removed to replace its input shaft seal.

Transfer case has no mount because it just hangs on back of adapter housing that is attached to crossmember mount and transmission is bolted to it on frontside.
The dealer said that i have a slow gasket leak where the transfer case meets the transmission.
I have a 98 blazer 4 3 with the 4l60e trans thats leaking fluid between the trans and t case is there a seal needing replaced in the trans or is the fluid supposed to be in the adapter.
This also means that the tranny will be low on fluid.
Can anyone verify that lack of the paper gasket between the transfer case and transmission will result in transmission fluid leak.
If the leak is external leaking out and puddling on the floor the transfer case needs to be unbolted and split from the transmission just enough to uncouple the splined shaft to replace the ring seal gasket.
